A Warrior for Christ

Day three at Warrior Leadership Summit brought some more awesome "Kodak" God moments. We started off with a dear Sioux (Sisseton/Wahpeton) brother of ours talking about Queen Esther from the Bible and how she stood up, took a stand, and reached her own people for Christ, and how these young warriors can take that same stand. It was awesome to hear him challenge them face to face and to see their response as he told them that they needed to take a stand.

It was a wonderful day, and then another great Warrior Circle that night. A big part of the night was a tribute to our dear brother and co-worker Ricky (Cherokee), who just passed away recently from brain cancer. His life has touched so many people here. We talked about the warrior he was and showed some images from his life. People were coming up and saying, "I want to be a warrior. I want to step up and fill that spot that was left when Ricky was called home to heaven." There are more young people in the Southwest on the reservations this year that are going to be reached for Christ because of Ricky's life and the way that he died. People are saying, "I want to step up. I want to be that warrior for Christ."

We ended the night hearing some of the young Native warriors share their gifts and talents in music in a Native American Talent Show. We celebrated them, the gifts God has given each of them, and how they got to share those gifts. For most of them it was the first time they had been up in front of this many people, but for some of them this is the first time they have even been anywhere. They were standing up there saying, "God has given me these gifts and I want to share them with you."

We're looking forward to so much more in the coming days!

Grateful for your ongoing prayer,

Brad Hutchcraft
