As the caravan of vehicles left our first community enroute to the Canadian border, we were filled with gratitude to God for the way He used this team in the past three days. With these being our first outreaches, there are usually kinks to work out, gaps that appear, and rookie team members trying to fit in to a high energy series of outreaches that tax even the most seasoned veterans. But this year is different. There’s a tremendous level of both spiritual maturity and self-initiation built into all the team, both veterans and first timers.

Update from Ron Hutchcraft with Team U.S.
It's not common for On Eagles' Wings to receive an official invitation from the Tribal Council of a reservation. But they're pretty desperate about their young people at "Fort Marshall." Recently, a gang expert identified twelve violent gangs on this reservation. And there's way too much drugs and dying. The council wrote to us, offering to "welcome you with open arms ... to our native homelands." They even sent a check from the tribe. They summarized their reason in nine words:

Ten junior high girls. They all decided to die together.
Three of them hung themselves from clothes racks in their closets. Others were injured in the attempt or changed their minds. Their desperation gave undeniable witness to the spirit of death and despair on the "Red Rock" Reservation - Mission #1 for On Eagles' Wings Team U. S. If ever a Summer of Hope was needed, it is needed here.

Wow, it's hard to believe that the Summer of Hope 2008 is now underway! After an historic Warrior Leadership Summit and two solid days of boot camp training for our two On Eagles' Wings teams, we launched out for the new rescue opportunities awaiting us.
